WHAT TO DO NEXT?

We had a wonderful gathering of longtime friends. It was a bit humid for Colorado and the only breeze quickly brought I nice downpour for my lawn. But not to worry. We ate, we drank, we snapped photos and then moved the party inside.

I would like to thank everyone who came because no matter how well you plan and prep, without guests it just isn't a party. I hope the next time we do this maybe a few more of our friends will be able to make it here.

I will be sending DVDs out this week to those who were unable to attend and have requested them. So if you would like to have your very own keepsake of the last 30 years and haven't let me know yet please do so soon. I will start working on the next DVD and plan on having that out as quickly as I can get submissions from the photographers here yesterday.

Until then I have a few teasers for you.

PHOTOS AND FRIDAY AFTERNOON CLUB

Remember this day over 30 years ago? You can tell it was taken in Nederland, we look a bit windswept. I have been scanning a few stray photos tonight to add to the DVD. After a frantic search I finally found the class photos from kindergarden to Fifth grade.

Now if I could just find the one from Mr. Crowley's class the documentation would be complete.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON CLUB

I am trying to get a group together on Friday August 3, at the Millennium Harvest House, 28th and Arapahoe in the gardens. Boubacar Diebate & Dialy Kounda, African Rock Fusion are playing from 5:30-8:30 pm. The gardens are located through the lobby to the right of the desk. They usually have some sort of food and plenty to drink. Of you can just sit and visit. Meet between the Gazebo Bar and the lawn.

To get to the Millennium from the South or Denver area take US 36 into Boulder past the first stoplight at Colorado. Watch for the hotel on the left past the retaining wall. The entrance is a left turn before you get to the next light at Arapahoe.

To get to the Millennium from the North or Longmont area take 28th Street South past Arapahoe. The hotel is on the right just past the Safeway.

I will get there early and stake out a table or two.

Feel free to bring familly along. The Millennium advertises this as a family friendly event.

The Countdown

The countdown has begun. No, not to the release of the last Harry Potter—although I will get my copy this weekend—but to the reunion weekend. This weekend the house will get spruced up and next weekend it will be the yard. I've put off planting some of the flowers because trying to keep the two dogs out of the flowers has been fun.

RSVPs are coming in. The last count was around 32. It's exciting to come home and check the mail and phone to see who's coming. We are a bit behind the 60 people who attended last time. But I have faith we will have a great party.

Matt tells me that the DVD of past reunion photos is nearing completion. This includes photos from the 10th, 20th and 25th. If you would be interested in your very own copy please email me. We will try and have some available the day of the pary and we can always mail them also. Personally I don't think we have aged at all since 1977!

May Flowers

During the last post it was snowing and today it has been raining here in Boulder. Looking out the window this morning I could see snow on Bear Peak and the Flatirons. I'm guessing that Nederland woke up to snow. Not something I miss these days.

We are starting to get some RSVPs. And once again we will have people show up that haven't been to a reunion yet. I think that is wonderful! In the meantime plans continue to come together. I will soon be putting up a list of other events going on in Boulder and the area that you might be interested in. One that comes to mind right away is FAC (Friday Afternoon Club) at the Millennium Hotel (former Harvest House) the Friday before the reunion. There is already talk of getting together for that.

So keep checking back.

I hope to see you in August!

April Showers

As I sit here with the snow and ice coating everything in sight, I keep telling myself that much sooner than I expect it will be summer and I will be hoping that the nights at least cool off. Which brings me to the alarming thought that before I know it my house will be full of people chattering about our days at Ned.

Or there will be if we get out the word about where and when all these people should show up.

We have decided that August 4, 2007 which is a Saturday would be the best day for the gathering. Starting around 2:00 PM and going until midnight or whenever we all fall asleep. Jan (Snavely) Lawrence is in charge of feeding us. We will fire up the grill and do burgers, brats and something vegitarian. Of course there will be beer and soda and all of the necessary snacks, side dishes, and desserts. We can watch the graduation VHS tape, and we might even have a DVD of all the other photos taken at previous reunions. That should bring out some chuckles!

All of this for the measley $15. per person requested donation.

If you would like to RSVP and get the directions to my house, please email me at bybeasley@yahoo.com or Laura Snow at laura_hoag@hotmail.com

If you would like to have more options for getting together that weekend please let us know what you have in mind and we will see what can be done. You can also post comments to this blog.

Old dogs and new tricks

I am hoping that this will be a handy tool to help in the planning of our 30th reunion. Right now I am trying to find my way around and figure this out. Something about old dogs and new tricks. We will see if I end up running screaming or hold my own.

So for now I am looking for feedback before I go live to the rest of the world. If anyone has experience with blogs and blogger in particular I am all ears.
